The original 1964 Dodge Charger concept car was meant to be a show car that was just as fast as it looked. It was based on a stock Dodge Polara convertible with extensive custom bodywork including shaved bumpers, rectangular side-exit exhausts, a rollbar with integrated headrests (lol that’s not how rollbars work), a cut-down windshield barely high enough to deflect wind from your face, a custom panel in the rear to hold the more widely-spaced taillights, and a massive hood scoop to feed the monster of an engine. That engine was planned to be one of the first 15 hand-built 426 Hemis made for racing, but after one of them got destroyed, the one meant for the Charger got sent to take its place, so the Charger had to enter the show circuit fitted with the stock 305 hp engine. But luckily, the ‘64 Charger managed to avoid the crusher unlike most 60's show cars, and still exists today. It was even given a restoration where one of the original hand-built race Hemis (number 13) was tracked down and fixed up so that it would finally be the crazy supercar it was envisioned to be. That race Hemi makes a theoretical 600 hp... That sounds like one epic way to die...

That front end looks a lot like a turned down, smoother out Turbine car.

True... I guess a 1964 Dodge Polara is the closest thing to a turbine car you can get... I wonder if that resemblance was intentional?
